Thomas Jefferson often used the phrase “knowledge is power”, usually when referring to the importance of establishing and supporting universities. At Elevator One we concur, and we therefore invest considerable time and money to educate elevator owners about elevating devices.
For the past two years we have been delivering Lunch & Learns (typically at the customer’s facility) where we treat the audience to a lunch and, during their eating, we provide them with valuable elevator information. This has included: a quick tutorial on the types of elevating devices; the role of the TSSA (how various legislation is relevant to them); legal obligations of elevator owner/managers; issues in the elevator industry; elevator contractor responsibilities; introduction of the MCP (elevator log book); discussion of elevator contracts; a “what you can do as an owner/manager of elevators” time; and finally the always popular Q&A where attendees can ask anything they’ve ever wanted to know about elevators – even if their question comes from a Die Hard movie!
As an extra bonus we leave each attendee with a certificate of completion, which some use towards their annual professional certification, while others use to bring home to their family to prove that they are in fact getting smarter each day.
If you feel your organization could benefit from such a NO COST event, reach out to Tina Hufnagel email@example.com so she can book you into our calendar.
