Moving Further North
As a basketball fan, the 2018-19 Toronto Raptors run was something I will never forget. I’ll always remember sitting around the TV with family and friends when Leonard’s Game 7 buzzer beater against the 76ers got us to our first ever NBA championship, and then the moment we all realized we were champions as the Raps defeated the heavily favoured Warriors in the finals. “We the North” was a great tagline, but now it was cemented in Canadian sporting history. The Toronto Raptors are Canada’s team, and the trophy was brought North to Canada.
In no way do I want to compare our company escapades to the triumph of the Raptors, but as a company we’ve chosen to embrace something that others have not. Traditionally the area North of the GTA has been, at best, an afterthought for many of the large elevator companies, whereas, it has always been our main focus at Elevator One. Servicing this area for 27 years now, we have grown a reputation for providing exceptional response and service in the areas that are even far removed from Toronto. This has allowed us to continue to grow our customer base (with many high-profile multi-elevator facilities) and our team. With over 20 elevator mechanics based out of our Barrie office, we are by far the largest elevator contractor in the region.
As our goal has always been controlled growth, we have held to firm geographical boundaries and in the north, they ended just south of North Bay. Over the years we have had many requests to go further north, but we did not feel ready to make the move further north. But we have now made the decision and the commitment to move further north by establishing a base in Sudbury where we will service the Greater Sudbury-North Bay region. Beginning September 2021, one of our senior technicians will be relocating to this region and servicing the area directly, with significant backup from our team out of Barrie.
We can even more boldly now proclaim: “We the North” when it comes to elevator services.
If you have new construction, modernization, repair or maintenance service needs in this geographical area, please reach out to our Account Manager, Tom Rennick at 705-734-4772 or trennick@elevatorone.ca.
As always we continue to grow our team to provide the same exceptional services in Central Ontario.
