Elevator Repair Service Company
Elevator Repairs require unique skills. While all elevator contractors undertake repairs, few have invested as heavily as Elevator One into developing the most highly qualified and trained elevator technicians in the country, and the support necessary for them to support our customers. Unique to the industry, after many years of training, Elevator One technicians continue to attend in-house night school learning about the myriad of old elevator technologies and all of the newest technologies as well. Elevator One supports technicians by stocking their maintenance vans with the most frequently needed parts. We also have an extremely large supply of required parts in our Barrie head office, to reduce customer downtime. This makes us stand out from our competitors.

A Message From Our President
“Welcome to Elevator One. We have chosen to be a different kind of elevator company, one which provides excellence throughout our organization. We have chosen to live by 3 core values: Integrity, Service, and Quality, and these words are more than a poster hanging in our office; each week we share stories of how these core values are being lived out by our team. I am very proud that we are a top TSSA elevator contractor in Ontario, and that we were nominated for “Best Contractor in Canada”. I am most pleased, however, by the comments we continually receive from our satisfied customers, as attested by our 4.9/5.0 Google Review Score and Comments. I hope you decide to give Elevator One a try. I am sure you won’t be disappointed.”

Common Questions
Here are common questions we receive regarding repairs.
Click the questions for answers.
The price of repairs varies depending on the type of contract you have (i.e. Labour, Oil, Grease contracts don’t include repairs, while Full Maintenance contracts usually do), and they depend on the type of repair. Whatever the situation, Elevator One minimizes your costs because: we often have the part in our truck (reducing necessary travel time and expenses to drive back and forth; and our rates are typically about 25% less than the large multinational companies. Also, because our technicians are better trained (with on-going weekly in-house night school), we can usually find and repair the issues more quickly, thus saving you money.
The length of time an elevator will be down varies by a number of factors including: the complexity of the repair (i.e. do we need a crew or can a technician complete on their own?), and the availability of parts. Fortunately our team has the best stocked vehicles in the industry, so they often have the necessary parts with them for immediate repair. Where the part required is not as readily available, it is often stocked in our Barrie shop and again the elevator can be made operational same day. Sometimes, however, parts need to be ordered from equipment suppliers, but fortunately we pay our suppliers very promptly and therefore get expedited service, bringing elevators back into operation much quicker than our competitors.
We have a 24/7 emergency response line with live operators. While almost all lift & elevator companies will claim the same, ask whether those calls are being answered locally or oversees? Our customers appreciate that the person answering the phone is local and knows the difference between Bradford and Brampton, Parry Sound and Port Perry. Calls are dispatched immediately to our on-call technician and a call is made back to the customer by the technician, typically within 15 minutes, to coordinate the work. For emergency calls, such as entrapments, Elevator One dispatches the closest technician to take the call. While we hear many sad stories of elevator riders being entrapped for multiple hours, because of the many technicians we have (devoted to the Central Ontario market), we have most passengers released in less than 30 minutes, and within 60 minutes for more remote locations.
Our team is trained to undertake repairs on all licenced elevating devices in Ontario. In terms of technology, we repair: inground, holeless and machineroomless (MRL) hydraulic elevators, and we repair overhead traction and machineroomless (MRL) roped elevators. We also repair a wide variety of accessibility lifts including: Limited Use/Limited Application (LULA) elevators, Vertical Platform Lifts (VPLs), stair platform lifts and stairchairs. In terms of manufacturer’s equipment that we currently maintain and repair, the list is very long but includes: Otis, Kone, Schindler, Thyssen Krupp, Delta, Armor, Dover, Federal, Montgomery, Northern, Concord, Cambridge, Garaventa, Niagara, Robertson and many more. We have a large parts inventory to help us repair those lifts and elevators quickly, whether they were installed in 1968 or 2018.
Here is a small sample of our elevator installation and maintenance service projects (ask us for references):

Elevator One has installed more than 20 Delta MRLs and hydraulic elevators on 10 different Pratt Homes projects.

We minimized the downtime for the senior residents while successfully completing this hydraulic elevator modernization.

We modernized 7 overhead traction elevators and provided exceptional maintenance services for this busy hospital.

We met the customers’ ambitious schedule and installed a high quality, holeless hydraulic Delta elevator.

We have undertaken nearly a dozen modernization projects for various offices and schools for the YRDSB.
